Among yesterday's rulings on the Voting Rights Act and affirmative action, the stone-cold badass showdown over Texas's SB-5 last night, and now today's rulings on DOMA and Prop 8, I've got severe emotional whiplash. This is really bad for my figurative neck.
Today, though, is a mostly happy day! Congrats to same-sex couples in California who are once again free to marry, and congrats to all U.S. same-sex couples who can now claim the federal benefits of their marriages! Here's looking forward to more rounds of congratulations without so many qualifications regarding whom they apply to.
