2003 in review meme
I actually did this once before, but then my computer had a kernel panic (one of three I have experienced, actually). So, like the immortal Ellen Feiss, I have done it again, and it isn't as good. Oh well. It's not like there was a lot of possibility for quality in the first place.
1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
Paid money for an internet service.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I make resolutions on an ad-hoc basis.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, unless they were exceptionally secretive about it.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, but my reclusive aunt did.
5. What countries did you visit?
Er, does Kansas count? Come on, I'm going to Brazil in a couple of days, give me a break!
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
I want to say, a roommate who doesn't suck. But then, I had a roommate who didn't suck in the spring. That just seems so long ago now.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Well, there was that one day ... except I don't know what the date was, so ... uh ...
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Not killing my roommate.
9. What was your biggest failure?
So far? My coursework for my Parthenon class.

Just, you know, colds that don't want to go away.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
The Pride and Prejudice DVDs, I think.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I don't understand. Like, whom should I have celebrated, but I didn't? Whatever.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Plenty of people appalled me, enough so that the list would depress the rest of you. I tend to disdain depression through sheer force of will, so none of that.

Groceries.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Return of the King. Order of the Phoenix.

That one Evanescence one.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter. Hell, I went up a cup size. O_o
iii. richer or poorer? Richer, actually, since I saved up all semester for naught.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing. Reading.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

22. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, but I am hated and feared by a certain person, whom a few of you know ...
25. What was the best book you read?
I read many good books. I enjoyed sharing the Order of the Phoenix with so many other people, though. So, yeah.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Decemberists.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
We set to sail on a packet full of spice, rum and tea-leaves.
We've emptied out all the bars and the bowery hotels.
Tell your daughters do not walk the streets alone tonight

Not really, but I just wanted to share that with you. It's from this song.
