Two phrases I overuse

"I hate it when that happens."

*something unpleasant and possibly bizarre happens, or is mentioned, like being dragged across the desert by a large mysterious beast*

Me: "I hate it when that happens."

"That's what they all say."

My brother: "I'll be right back, unless I get waylaid on AIM."

Me: "That's what they all say."

My brother: "Actually, I doubt that anyone has actually used that phrase before."

Me: "That's what they all say."

Said brother is currently watching the Stargate movie. And so, theoretically, am I, although the fact that I am posting this belies any attention I might claim to be paying. There are too many boneheaded military figures who cannot do or say anything intelligent.

ETA: Bwahahahah! The movie just ended and my brother put in the DVD of the first three episodes of Stargate, which he alleged he did "just to look at the titles."

Me: "That's what they all say."

My brother: "You keep using that phrase. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Me: [lengthy explanation about how I am generalizing from more common disingenuous statements, along the lines of "I'll do it in a minute," to his particular brand of insanity involving putting a DVD in just to see the titles]

My brother: "Whatever."

Oh, how I love being home.
