Hey, wow --

Someone else wrote Virgil/Dante!

Check it out -- Eternally Divided: A Missing Canto from Dante's Inferno by Heather Elizabeth Peterson

Very touching and not as, um, smutty as my initial take on the subject, and accompanied by a very nice historical note.

Yes, very touching.  More importantly, though, your smutty link doesn't seem to be working.

That's better!  And hey, I was in that Divine Comedy reading at Grace Church.  I can only presume it was my own stirring interpretation of Canto 43 of Purgatorio* that inspired you to such heights of literary accomplishment.

*Actually, I have barely a dim recollection of what it was I read.  Is there even a canto 43 in Purgatorio?  *shrugs*

All right, all right, I looked it up and it was canto 32 that I performed.  I knew it had to be one of the last cantos in Purgatorio because I had to wait freakin' forever for my turn, and the Cowboy Bebop movie came out that day and all I could think of was "I'm going to miss the last showing!"  Happy ending though, I caught the midnight show.  No happy ending, however, for those poor souls who had to stick around for Paradiso.
