Mets beat the Dodgers

It's happening, [personal profile] implicated2!

I like the segment ESPN Sport Science did on Chase Utley's slide in game two. It's very short, to the point, and damaging, much like Chase Utley's slide.

It is!!! And now I'm way too wired to sleep! But it is worth it!

That video was super helpful too. I hadn't realized it was the impact of Utley's slide rather than the fall he took that actually broke his leg. Grr. Good riddance to him (Utley, that is).

I know! I thought it was vicious and pretty clearly aimed at the player instead of the base, but I seriously underestimated the force involved or just how far off the mark it would have taken him if he hadn't taken out Ruben Tejada instead. Science!

The Cubs seem like a nice bunch of kids who will give you a good championship series and not injure anyone on purpose, so there's that. The Cubs fans will probably be unbearable if they get knocked out, but hey, I see no reason to believe to believe their team isn't going to be good again next year. They can cope.

I did, though I found it a little too gross to appreciate much (not in a judgy way, just so very Not for Me). This adorable shot is a little more my speed. Also we put a Mets t-shirt on my dad's eleven year-old dog and she was so delighted with it that she romped joyfully around the house for several minutes.

I have positive feelings about the Cubs too. Losing to the Dodgers after that Utley business would have been literally adding insult to injury; losing to the Cubs would be disappointing but I'd have a pretty easy time being glad for them in the end.

I'm sorry to say I have almost no opinions about American League teams, but if I end up watching Royals v. Blue Jays I will definitely be thinking of you!

Hahahaha that's fair. I definitely would not care to be involved in a beer slip 'n' slide, but I appreciate the joie de vivre of the attempt.

What a fabulous smile! Also I see from Wikipedia that Curtis Granderson has a sort of grudge against the Cubs dating back to his childhood in Chicago, when he specifically refused to root for them because Cubs games would interfere with his ability to watch Saved By the Bell, which is great.
