But why is the cannibal wearing a space outfit?

My good friend from high school came over yesterday to show me her costume sketches for a performance of Into the Woods. She observed the tub of Legos (or, alternately, Lego) in our living room. which now contains a blue castle inhabited by pacifistic soldiers who think they are renfaire escapees, a cannibal island inhabited by one live cannibal, one cannibal being devoured by a shark, and one monkey, and also two very confused men in rowboats with cannons. Then, unfortunately, she had to go home, and I had to go to work.

In other news, my father has nicked my copy of The Sword and the Stone to read, which is vaguely disturbing to me. I mean, intellectually, I know that the actual book itself does not contain messy boysex, but still ... Hey, at least he'll probably want to take me to that King Arthur movie this weekend.

Am writing other things. Should get back to that, I suppose.

*Harried bride-to-be desires to come to Meghan's house to play Lego... suffices self by making the three year old Guatemalan boy smell pungent extracts from the pantry*

Does The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time have anything to do with Sherlock Holmes?  Sorry this is unrelated to your post, but I've been wondering this for a while.

That actually does sound pretty interesting.  Maybe I'll give it a shot after I feel enough time has transpired that it's no longer the current trendy book (I saw two people reading it on the subway this past week... though at least it's not as ubiquitous as that blasted Da Vinci Code).
