potentialities

Oh yes, speaking of mothers and recovery rooms! I forgot to mention (actually, I had forgotten it completely until my mom spoke about it, and then it sort of came back to me) that when my mom, who feels faint whenever I get a shot or have blood drawn or anything, came in to see me at first, she apparently saw some blood trickling from my nose before they taped me up with the gauze. So she grabbed a spare gurney nearby so she could lie down. *g* This was all very well and good until, you know, they wanted that gurney for other things.

She also had basically the same surgery eight years ago, and she had the gauze packing, which she remembered with much lack of fondness. When she asked the doctor about it at my pre-surgery appointment, she said that basically the consensus was that everyone hated it and it was more trouble than it was worth. This was happy news, indeed.

I'm definitely still doing a lot of sitting around, interspersed with some lying around, for variety. At least now I have books to read while I do it. Er, more books, I mean ... ;)
