mayhap: Clint drinks straight from the coffee pot (Clint/coffee)
It's probably just as well that I don't live in Japan or I would be far too tempted to scoop up all of this adorable Café Inui merch. How can you say no to delicious probability 100%?

Meanwhile, Peter Moylan is serving the rest of the Royals coffee drinks out of his locker, including a signature drink involving espresso and chocolate milk over ice that he calls a "Sledge-iatto". Yum.

mayhap: Inui's glasses shining (shiny glasses)
I've embarked on a fannish/self-improvement project wherein I am rewatching all of Prince of Tennis ... but only while I'm also jogging with the Wii Fit.

So far, this is reasonably effective as a motivation and distraction. (I also enjoy rhythm boxing, hula hoops and beating my parents at balance games.)

.

Back when Lost originally began airing, I was in Scotland for the semester behind a series of rather stiff firewalls, so I persuaded (well, demanded) that my mother and my ex-boyfriend torrent episodes for me and IM them to me, and because my mother got started watching the show then, I have been doomed to keep watching it with her until the bitter, bitter end.

I don't think I was that rude.

.

I had this dream that I had picked up a [livejournal.com profile] yuletide pinch hit for [livejournal.com profile] belmanoir and was trying to write Nicholas Lea/Mitch Pileggi RPF in ballad form (made more difficult because I was trying to refresh my memory about said form by googling it and the Google in my brain didn't know any more about the subject than I did), incorporating the late-breaking news that Nick had just broken his ankle in a luging accident somehow, and nobody was posting in the [livejournal.com profile] yuletide comm, no matter how many times I refreshed.

I was disappointed on awakening to realize that it wasn't anywhere near [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, but I was glad I didn't have to finish that ballad. It wasn't anywhere near hitting the minimum wordcount.

mayhap: Ryoma with a tennis racket (ready when you are)
I caught up with the Prince of Tennis National Finals a while ago and I really liked the ending. )

As far as I'm concerned, Dear Prince is basically a love letter to fandom in all its gleeful cracky porny obssessive glory, and I just want to say, thank you. ♥

Also! Now we have a nice closed canon to write futurefic in, and the Chinese drama for quasi-AU goodness! Life is good.

mayhap: Tezuka in blue and red tones with text Zone (Tezuka Zone)
I know, I know, I'm a.) behind on watching the OVAs (I don't want it to be over!) and b.) should be asleep anyway (but I'm not tired! Gay tennis is my drug!)

Shepard Fairey, feel free to sue me. Tezuka will fuck your shit up for being careless.

So, there's Meganes compilation album, and apparently Inui has a Tezuka robot? D'you suppose they've been reading [livejournal.com profile] prillalar?

I've been trying to rationalize buying one of these for a Halloween costume because I actually don't have a jacket and I really could wear it as such.

I'm not sure if that makes it better or worse.

mayhap: Inui throws stuff into his juice (Inui Juice)
Stan colored the picture of Seigaku which I had displayed on my locker at work. Now, it looks like this:

Click to behold the masterpiece! )

I'm not sure what we're meant to deduce from the artist's color selections here. Kaidoh is entirely green, representing his serpentine and envious nature? Ryoma and Momo are both dressed in red, as befits their cheerful sanguinity, whereas only Fuji's head is red, denoting his formidable temper concealed behind his placid façade? Tezuka really needs to talk to the hairdresser who did his highlights? Inui ought to lay off the Aozu? Eiji is secretly a ninja, or possibly an evil spirit?

I inquired into these matters, and all he would say was that those were the only markers that he could find.

mayhap: Inui pushes Tezuka down as their eyes meet (InuTez)
Mmm, all the lovely Inui/Tezuka doujinshi I've been reading (or, in the case of the raws, confusedly but happily ogling) have reminded me how much I adore them. Total self-indulgent PWP.

Incidentally, I've been contending with a cable internet connection that works intermittently at best, and all I can say is, I would like Inui to do all my technical support.

Prince of Tennis. Inui Sadaharu/Tezuka Kunimitsu. NC-17. 2,216 words.
Tezuka is experiencing technical difficulties.

At precisely 8:00 PM, Inui pulled the brim of his baseball cap down over his forehead and marshaled the salient points from his evening shift of data-collection. )

mayhap: screencap of an outstretched hand held between to hands with text gathering data (gathering data)
Stan told I should post here more often. There is some justice to this. However, he failed to answer me when I inquired what, precisely, I should be posting. You can blame him for this post.

On Friday, I decorated my locker at work with photocopies from the Prince of Tennis manga. I put all of Seigaku along the bottom and this panel above my name:

Stan made fun of me for my Inui love and said that his heart belongs to oval glasses, not square ones. (Although I think this really just translates to him perving on Shirota, since his primary Tenipuri exposure is watching the movie twice while providing his own subtitles.) Sam concurred with him, while maintaining that Kaidoh is hotter than both of them. And thus, a pointless poll, for the collection of data:

Finally got my hands on the raw Prince of Tennis live action movie yesterday! I watched it last night with Stan, who has consumed no Prince of Tennis in any format save a handful of episodes from the Hyotei arc. I tried to translate and/or explain stuff; Stan provided vodka. I leave it as an exercise for the reader to determine which proved more illuminating.

Cut for mild spoilers / bored people who don't care )

To summarize, the Prince of Tennis movie is a valuable tool for converting people who like pretty boys to the Tenipuri cause.
