Date: 2003-12-30 04:02 am (UTC)I liked that indirectly this has given Gandalf hope again, because it reminds him of the fact the hobbits are always good for a surprise. So if Pippin can surprise him, Frodo might just surprise him as well by succeeding with his task. :-)
The last passage makes me smile - because, yes, Pippin would not allow Gandalf to just conveniently forget about what happened.
Any chance you're going to write out any scenes that right before this story? ;-)
