mayhap: closeup of Sawyer reading Watership Down with text Bunnies! (bunnies!)

All my shows are over now. I miss them already.

The last few weeks have been especially nice since I've been home. My whole family watches House, although only my mom and I know what's going on on Lost and Alias.

That was a surprisingly low-key point to drop the curtain on the season. Aside from the boatfolk -- and I refuse to believe that Jin or Sawyer are dead, la la la I can't hear you la la la either of them would have deserved a whole episode of death scene like Boone la la la la -- no one is actually in mortal danger, just, you know poised on the edge of it.

I really really liked the flashbacks we got last week and this week, little moments of everyone in the airport and such, much like the pilot. I think the use of a single focal character for every episode was sometimes a liability, when they couldn't get quite enough juice out of that bit of backstory, they ended up with a weaker episode that didn't quite move things along. Of course, all the various flashbacks just allowed them to more easily tug at my strings times ten.

I am so very attached to them all. Yes, even Shannon. Yes, even Jack. Yes, even Kate, although if I think too much about her backstory, I might be tempted to throw things. I don't want any more of them to die, yo. Although quite frankly, Charlie could have been a bit more considerate Danielle, who is, yes, batshit insane, and I think the island should spank him some more.

Well what do you know, the world didn't end after all. Because I was totally worried that it would.

Actually, that was a fairly impressive piece of storytelling. It made the rest of the season seem like it was actually building up to something, although I think that that is partially to do with the fact that my brain has blocked out a lot of the sheer pointlessness as a coping mechanism, leaving only what vaguely resembles a plot arc.

Besides, just add Spymommy and everything is more awesome. Seriously. It works like a charm.

So, big ol' cliffhanger ending. Vaughn has been keeping this secret since before he met Sydney? Hahahahahahahahahahaha. He better have pulled a Zaphod on himself, because yeah. Ha. No.

Ambiguous!Vaughn and ambiguous!Sark should totally hook up, though. Oh, you know I'd say that no matter what either of them did. They always go well together.

I adored the last two episodes of House. They did not have anywhere near enough Wilson in them, but I adored them anyway. After the hit-and-miss episodes of the Vogler/House/Cameron arc (no, not like that!), I thought these two episodes not only equalled but actually exceeded the earlier episodes that I fell in love with.

I find myself deeply divided about Stacy. I can certainly see why House loved and loves her, and I can understand why she did what she did, although the very idea gives me hives and her eagerness to do it was slightly unholy, but now she's not doing anything but hurting him over and over and over and I can't imagine anything good coming of this next season. Hopefully the writers are imagining differently.

Sigh. Is it September yet?
