It turns out that just because you have tagged a story with a relationship on AO3, it doesn't mean it will show up under the character tags of the parties to the relationship. And here I thought I was just being parsimonious in my tagging!

Clearly, I do not make enough use of the character tag pages or I would have noticed this years ago.
