Okay, you know what I don't get? I don't get when some totally random person IMs you, and you want to know who the hell they are in case you know them and they've just never IMed you before, and they respond by asking you who you are.
I'm all, the hell? You initiated this contact, you tell me who you are and I'll determine whether or not I know you. Only I put it nicely.
Their response is usually to ask me what school I go to. I'll go ahead and tell them NYU, because, I mean, that narrows it down soooooo much, they're going to find me and stalk me and what exactly would they accomplish, anyway? They'd do as well to just follow random girls around New York, it'd amount to the same thing.
So, because they're all junior high students, they're really impressed that they've gotten ahold of a college student. Then they bugger off rather politely, usually. If, say, they try to engage me in conversation about how cool NYU is, I finally proceed to blocking them.
