...and now, alas, we part ways. I am not sure whether to politely ignore your baseball posts for a while or engage in friendly competition. How do I sports fandom? How do you sports fandom? This is all new to me!

I don't know how to sports fandom either! If you want to engage in some friendly competition I wouldn't be at all offended, though.

Right now I'm just so curious to see how game one plays out so I can adjust my hopes and fears accordingly.

And I'm curious too! I know next to nothing about the Royals, and I guess the Mets and Royals also know next to nothing about each other, so... ??

Yeah, it's a big question mark! Now, if the Blue Jays had won, you could look at the actual interleague games they played with the Mets back in June for a starting point, but the last time the Royals and the Mets played each other was two years ago. Even the players who are the same aren't the same players they were two years ago, so that's no help.

Even the bookmakers seem to think it could easily go either way, so what hope do I have of making a prediction?
