I assume that when we give the CDs to the head librarian, she'll check to find out who had them last, although I suppose some of them could have even been checked out by someone else in the meantime. From what she told us, though, they confronted a guy who brought in one of these things (I think it was at another branch?) and he claimed that it had been an accident, and there was nothing we could do.

Which, come to think if it--it wouldn't be very hard to walk out of the library with CDs you hadn't checked out. We don't have any fancy schmancy theft detection. So, seriously--why would anyone go to all this trouble, again?
