I was totally going to do this, until I discovered that someone did it for me: iTunes Music Store iMix of covers of the song Hallelujah. For some reason I love this song to pieces and never get tired of different versions of it.

Yesterday I got my Television Licence in the mail. (Maybe now I will remember which spelling of "license" is which. Or maybe I will just keep perversely using the British one and wondering why it keeps being marked incorrect.) This makes me feel personally responsible for the BBC, and wonder just when they are going to implement their visionary plan to make all their back catalogue available to the British public. (Answer: As soon as I leave the country.)

My mother has never forgotten Oolong's website, which I originally linked her to three years ago. This is what I blame for the pictures that she recently sent me, which I have placed under this cut:

I guess we were all out of miniature pancakes.

Tis the season ... to put cookie cutters on your rabbit's head?

Evidently so.

These flowers, however, are the last straw. So to speak.

Strange things happen when I leave her to her own devices ...

Er. Speaking of strange things. Here is the closest thing to an explanation of [livejournal.com profile] corelle_love that you are likely to get out of me.

EDIT: Roger Ebert is really making me want to see this film in all its sublimely dorky glory. This movie was, like, made for me. I crave generous helpings of incredibly geeky dialogue, damn it! And time travel is my nearl-bulletproof kink!

Well at least it wasn't a seaweed wrap or whatever. But I thought that second thing was a Jello Jiggler until I read the word "cookie cutter."
Tis a good thing she didn't put Corelle on his head.

THANK you.

LOL! Um. Also, I fit 5 or 6 of those categories...

BTW- Versions of whose Hallelujah? I have a few songs called Hallelujah in my playlist, including this one which I recorded a few years ago (if interested see here and here for info on this kind of music in which the "notes" are sung before the words). I suspect, however, that this is not the Hallelujah you are referring to, nor would Handel's be.

I do understand this need for versions, though, as I did collect 18 versions of Man Of Constant Sorrow shortly after O Brother Where Art Thou came out...

Yeah, when I went to see Shrek the first time I remember thinking "what the hell is this song doing in this movie? And hey, this sounds like Rufus Wainwright!"  That film had a number of odd musical choices in it.  My sister said she wanted to do a mini-marathon of Movies With Unusual Soundtracks, highlighting both Shrek and A Knight's Tale.  If you've never seen the latter, it's ridiculous, but worth watching once, for these reasons: (1) Medieval dancing to a David Bowie song, which is cool, but still not as cool as (2) Paul Bettany as Naked Chaucer.
