I'm seeing, without in any way seeking it out, mind you, a lot of discourse on the topic of whether or not the world needs, and I quote, “hot young Wonka.”

To which I say: Gene Wilder was thirty-seven when Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory was filmed. Thirty-seven! That is hardly old! That is quite literally my age! Also, he was smoking hot. (And he knew how to accentuate it!)
