I went to Continental's website to check the status of my flight and they gave me the bright red exclamation point of "Call Continental for further details about your flight." And gave me a 1-800 number. And I was all "Boy howdy that sure is helpful!" But I got my mom to call said number, as she is already in the U.S., and evidently the alert was flagged by the hour delay or so of my flight out of Newark.

Which was, you know, back in September. I'd like to think that it was so much water under the bridge by this point, but. Evidently not. So. Flight leaves tomorrow at 10:00, as scheduled.

Also not fun: packing. And as if trying to fit everything that you own into two suitcases isn't bad enough, then you also have to attempt to carry them.

Ah, bugger all this. Time to find some dinner.

Aah, I know that feeling. I had to pack after 4 months in Dawson City, with 2 suitcases and a backpack to transport pretty much an entire small 1br apartment home with me. And I had to pack it all in less than 24h.

Well, amazingly enough, everything seems to be in my suitcases, with the exception of such items as I intend to keep about my person, e.g. iBook upon which I am currently typing. Of course, I knew all along that this dreadful day would be upon me eventually, and so I tried to restrain myself from buying more things than were strictly necessary, such as British paperbacks of all five Harry Potter books. (What? Those were necessary!)

All three times I moved back from New York in suitcases I had to cheat by either putting things in storage or shipping stuff, but this time, I have achieved Suitcase Equilibrium! It helps that my parents gave me nice big suitcases as a studying abroad present, though. Otherwise ... eep.

Suitcase Equilibrium is exciting. :D I managed it on the way back here from home most recently, but that was only a short trip. We'll see what happens when I leave permanently... I envision many donations to Value Village and the like when that happens.
