Today I had the gigantic plastic splints removed, as well as having lots of nasty blood clots and such sucked out with a vacuum. (I know that you wanted to know this.) This is the (more or less) final stage of my induction into the world of people who breathe through their noses and it actually works and stuff. Truly amazing.
