anagrammatical
Jun. 27th, 2015 08:30 pmMy new favorite fact is that "Antonin Scalia" is an anagram of "I sanction anal," and not just because it's hilariously childish, like the fact that "Spiro Agnew" famously anagrams to "grow a penis."
"Sanction," of course, is its own antonym, meaning either to permit or penalize, thus harkening back to the long, proud tradition of trolling Scalia by citing his dissent in Lawrence v. Texas defending sodomy laws in decisions overturning same-sex marriage bans.
It's been fun, but I'm so glad no U.S. judge needs to write another one of those decisions ever again.
