mayhap: Mike and Psmith walking and chatting (Mike/Psmith)
Taking a break from NaNoWriMo—1,700 words and counting! (I really need to try to get ahead now, because there's going to be all kinds of craziness later in the month.)

Night-time Experiences (1787 words) by Magistra
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Ecce Romani
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Davus, Eucleides
Characters: Davus - Character, Eucleides - Character
Additional Tags: Slash, Latin, Textbook, Ancient Rome
Summary:

Davus and Eucleides, newly-bought slaves of the wealthy Cornelii Family, learn about how Roman slaves sustain intimate relationships. Oneshot, slash.

I never actually used Ecce Romani in Latin class, as my Latin teacher adopted it the year after I graduated—back in my day, we used Jenney's First Year Latin and we liked it. Sam took Latin II with Ecce Romani, though, and remembered the characters from it, so I looked to see if there was any fic like I already knew there was for Cambridge Latin. And there is! But Cambridge Latin fandom is still winning, because it has like eight posted stories whereas Ecce Romani has two.

I missed this during Yuletide 2009 and it's really nice. I loved Generation X and Microserfs back in the day.

Aes Imaginosum (11169 words) by Sineala

Dungeons & Hawkeyes (5519 words) by inmyriadbits
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Hawkeye (Comics)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Clint Barton & Kate Bishop, Kate Bishop & Phil Coulson, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson
Characters: Kate Bishop, Clint Barton, Phil Coulson
Additional Tags: Pre-Slash, Dungeon, Shirtless, shoeless, Hawkbros, SHIELD, Kidnapping, Boats, Formalwear
Summary:

In which this whole dungeon thing really isn’t working for Kate Bishop, there are far too many nicknames from the Victorian era, socks are vitally important, and Clint insists he is Han Solo in this situation.

This is a New Year's Resolution fic for the same prompt that I wrote for Yuletide last year that zigs where I zagged—it has a Kate POV that is utterly delightful, with Clint/Phil instead of Clint/Kate as the endgame pairing, which is really fun because I totally pondered all those choices myself. Coulson is based on his movie self, but brought into the Hawkguy universe, and the story's sensibility lies totally with the comics, so it's more of a fusion in that sense.

Also, does anyone know of an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D kinkmeme anywhere? I need to know because of reasons.
mayhap: Kristy and Mary Anne, pillow fight! (Kristy/Mary Anne)
I only have two stories to share this week, but they're both amazing and they both have illustrations!

Babysitter of the Daleks by [livejournal.com profile] sloth_in_a_box, [livejournal.com profile] lippian and [livejournal.com profile] aceattorneysho
Baby-sitters Club/Doctor Who (Eleventh Doctor) crossover. Gen/Humor/Crack. ~PG. 31,820 words.
The Eleventh Doctor comes to Stoneybrook and unlocks the alien mystery of its perpetually-looping timeline (among other things) in this Baby-sitters Club Christmas Super Special.

As a huge fan of DW, the BSC, and cracktastic crossovers, I knew I was going to love this story the minute I saw the lovingly hand-rendered cover. It is absolutely filled with in-jokes about the OTT ridiculousness of the BSC books and I love it.

Vae Victis (33405 words) by Sineala
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: The Eagle | The Eagle of the Ninth (2011)
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Marcus Flavius Aquila/Esca Mac Cunoval
Characters: Marcus Flavius Aquila, Esca Mac Cunoval
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe, Alternate Universe - Historical, Alternate Universe - Ancient Greece & Rome, Alternate Universe - Etruscans, Alternate Universe - Gaul, Etruscans, Gauls, War, Romance, First Time, Additional Warnings Apply
Summary:

War looms on the horizon as Marcus' homeland of Etruria is faced with the unreasoning demands of the Gauls, a vicious, deadly foe. Young and lonely, Marcus begins a tentative friendship -- a friendship that could become something more -- with Esca, a prince of the Gauls. But the differences of the two nations cannot be ignored, and both Marcus and Esca must choose between the needs of their peoples and the desires of their hearts.

True story: I actually had a freshman seminar on the Etruscans with Larissa Bonfante, mumblety-mumble years ago. The Etruscans are awesome, and so is this story.
